Being an Atheist IV

God is sure merciful; how else can a being so powerful and mighty take so many criticism, and still remain quiet. Or maybe it is the case that this “being” doesn’t exist more than we’ve decided to  imagine.

Continuing in my series of my favorite quotes on God, this is the 4th edition, maybe you haven’t being around lately, you can catch up on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

“I find it necessary to was my hands after I have come into contact with religious people.” (Friedrich Nietzsche)

“Give a man a fish, and you’ll feed him for a day; give him a religion, and he’ll starve to death while praying for a fish.” (Anonymous)

“Praying is like a rocking-chair–it’ll give you something to do, but it won’t get you anywhere.” (Gypsy Rose Lee)

“Absolute faith corrupts as absolutely as absolute power.” (Eric Hoffer)

“Two hands working can do more than a thousand clasped in prayer.” (Anonymous)

“We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another.” (Jonathan Swift)
